Saanvi Mehta, a Grade 12 IBDP student from Aditya Birla World Academy, hosted her Mohiniyattam Arangettam at Jai Hind College this month. The event marked a key milestone in her dance journey and also raised awareness about cervical cancer and the importance of vaccination.
Attended by friends, family & Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview members, including President Rajni Barasia, the evening featured a traditional Arangettam performance followed by a dance musical, guided by Guru Urvi Vora, that conveyed the message of cervical cancer prevention. Dr. Priya Vora spoke on critical role of vaccination & screenings.
On Saanvi’s special day, 61 people at Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi got meals, organized by Kshantisheela Foundation through Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview.
Saanvi raised about 3 lakhs for her cause & secured subsidized HPV vaccines through the Serum Institute of India. She encouraged everyone saying, “It doesn’t take a big donation to help someone, just a lot of little donations. Please reach out to Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview if you want to help.” (By Rajni Barasia)
