Sub: – Tragic Accident on 12/08/2025
Respected Sir,
We lost one of our colleague Mrs. Nita Shah on 12/08/25 morning around 9/9.15am while walking home. She was crushed to death under very tragic circumstance for no fault of her. Sir, in recent times we have been feeling the stress of urbanization in our locality. We have to humbly request you to rethink & initiate action for safety & betterment of we the residents.
1) Provide dedicated footpath on other side of BG Kher Marg.
2) Enforce speed limits on all Vehicles. Please provide speed Cameras to nab speeding vehicles.
3) At sensitive spots – provide scientific speed breakers (not rumblers) – These spots are: (a) Near Gate No. 2 of Sir P M Garden (b) Near Sahyadri Guest House (c) Near Jain temple & likevise review entire Walkeshwar road.
4) Ensure accumulation of only 3/4 Best Buses at a time near Malabar Hill Post office which is a transit terminal.
5) Most important of all above points – Please give us back our Parking Facility on Sir P M garden & K N park, on both sides of BG Kher Marg.
This convenience is snatched away from us. We are informed by authorities that because of VIP movements they have taken this action. Sir, this Parking facility existed since more that 5 decades plus. We have been living with our Political fraternity since more that 6 decades in mutual coexistence, peace & harmony. We have always even respected a special Political event & abide to temporary ban on Parking. Sir, with this Parking facility residents will bring their Vehicles instead of Walking on the roads, thus safeguarding their safety. We request you to instruct authorities to do Research on our requests which are bare necessity. If need we (few) of us are ready to meet you as well. Lastly, we PRAY for our departed colleague’s soul & are confident that her sacrifice will not go unattended, especially when we have “OUR OWN C.M.” our beloved one. Thanks & Regards, (signed by 93 members) of Walkers Group of Sir PM Garden & K N Park & Malabar Hill Residents. (After talking with the walkers over the above letter, they stated that they are eagerly anticipating suitable action from the Hon. CM.)
