Going beyond their regular call of duty and as a part of the Road Safety Month, the D.B. Marg Traffic Police along with Wockhardt Foundation recently conducted a free health screening camp for their personnel and the surrounding underprivileged communities.
Held outside K.N. Park at the Traffic Police post, the camp included a general health check-up with special focus on diabetes and hypertension, ECG and ophthalmic services along with the provision of free medicines. Over 280 patients benefited from the camp which included 39 patients who were referred to clinics/hospitals for further diagnosis and treatment.
The planning and coordination was led by PI Nilesh Kamble and Mrs. Samina Khorakiwala, Director of Wockhardt Foundation, their medical partner for the camp.
The continuous efforts and support from senior personnel like API Dnyaneshwar Phatak, HC Mahesh Thakur, HC Pravin Salve, PC Ganesh Gurav, PC Vinayak Bharsat and other officers and staff ensured the timely and orderly delivery of the medical services to those in need. This outreach initiative of the traffic police was an extension of their service to the people and the overwhelming response was a testament of appreciation from the community.
During the camp, Traffic police distributed letters of appreciation to bikers who followed traffic regulations by wearing helmets and maintaining the necessary accessories on their 2-wheelers as required by Law.
