On 24th November, Sunday, Adesh Shivkar conducted a bird walk for our bird enthusiast. A mix of young and old enjoyed the walk. Hanging Garden precinct is a bio-diversity hotspot within our city and hosts a variety of birds. Adesh Shivkar leads nature and bird walks for individuals and organisations. He is a popular story teller naturalist and his walks are full of trivia, natural history and anecdotes. Adesh has an amazing skill to mimic bird calls. His passion for nature led him to give up his well-paying job and start his own tour company, Nature India Tours.
Some 20 varieties of species were spotted in the Hanging Garden itself! Among these were the Red-whiskered Bulbul, Purple-rumped Sunbird, Black Kite, Pale-billed Flowerpecker, Scaly-breasted Munia, Indian Grey Hornbills, Indian Silver Bills, Oriental Magpie Robin Green Warbler.
