Representando La Vida – Representing Life

Argentine Art at Cosmic Heart Gallery in Mumbai

A spectacle of Argentinian art in Mumbai this December promises to be a feast for your senses. Celebrating the artistic talents of two remarkable Argentinian women — Florencia Aise and Julia Romano, the exhibition “Representando La Vida” comes to the city presented by Cosmic Heart Gallery, Consulate General of Argentina in Mumbai & Basu Foundation for the Arts.

The exhibition literally means to “represent life” and brings two varying perspectives on the term. Both Florencia Aise & Julia Romano bring incredible creativity to the forefront and deliver unmatched excellence through their expression of Argentinian art and culture.

Florencia Aise delves in hyper-realistic portraiture and collages and has made an indelible mark in the Latin American art scene. Her creations are an exquisite fusion of meticulous attention to detail, a profound understanding of the human form, and an astute use of color. Her art transcends mere representation, offering us a deep and intimate insight into the lives and emotions of her subjects

Florencia´s work has been exhibited, among other cities, in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, London, Madrid, New York, Rome, and Art Basel Week in Miami. She was considered by Forbes magazine as one of the most promising young women under 35 in Argentina.

Julia Romano studied art at the National University of Córdoba and graduated as a professor with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialty in engraving. Her artistic research focuses on questioning and wondering about the way each person recognizes and experiences the territory. She is interested in the landscape´s studies and its representation throughout the history of art, reflecting one’s own landscape through personal stories.

“Together, Florencia Aise and Julia Romano’s creations represent a celebration of artistic diversity and a tribute to the boundless possibilities of artistic expression. Florencia’s hyper-realistic portraits speak about the strength of women and reveal the intricate layers of human emotion, while Julia’s natural landscapes ignite a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world.” says curator Jalpa H Vithalani, Cosmic Heart Gallery.

The exhibition is open for viewing at the Cosmic Heart Gallery in Mumbai from the 13th December and will be displaying the best of the two artists’ work.
