RTKA shines at 8th Asian GojuRyu Karate Championship in Pune
The 8th Asian GojuRyu Karate Championship took place in Pune from June 7th to 9th, 2024. The event showcased the abilities, dedication, and sports-manship of participants from India and around the world. With 500 contestants the championship was a celebration of martial arts.
The championship is organized by the Union of GojuRyu Karate-do Federation of India. President Sensei Dhiraj Pawar is a part of the Asian GojuRyu Karate Federation and World Goju Ryu Karate Federation.
The event was supported by notable figures, including Hanshi Pieter Harms, Treasurer of WGKF; Sensei BR Mitra, President of AGKF; and Sensei Khaled Monsur Chowdhury, General Secretary of AGKF. Kyoshi Sensei Ganesh Dalvi serves as the WGKF Auditor.
The grand event took place at the Shree Shiv Chattrapati Sports Complex, National Games Park, Mahalunge, Pune. Rajesh Thakkar’s Karate Academy (RTKA) proudly participated with a team of 12 members who demonstrated exceptional talent and won an impressive number of medals. Remarkably, every member of the RTKA team secured at least one medal, showcasing their hard work and the high standards of training at the Academy.

– Yuv Godani: 1st Place, Gold in 13-14 Years Male Kumite.
– Nishita Giri: 1st Place, Gold in Under 18 Female Kata.

– Hersh Pranav Sayta: 1st Place, Gold in Male Open Kata.
– Tanishq Jain: 2nd Place, Silver in Under 21 Male Kata.
– Tanishq Jain: 2nd Place, Silver in Under 21 Male Kumite.
– Ashfaq Khatri: 1st Place, Gold in Under 45 Male Kata.
– Richa Aggarwal: 1st Place, Gold in Under 45 Female Kata.
– Raghuvir Thakkar: 3rd Place, Bronze in Under 55 Male Kata.
– Raghuvir Thakkar: 1st Place, Gold in Under 55 Male Kumite.
– Shiv Shankar Sharma: 3rd Place, Bronze in Male Open Kata.
– Shiv Shankar Sharma: 1st Place, Gold in Male Open Kumite.
– Manan Parekh: 3rd Place, Bronze in Under 18 Male Kumite.
The participants’ devotion and commitment were visible in every performance, and their accomplishments have given great pride to the whole RTKA community. Their dedication and tenacity have not only given them success, but have also motivated many other RTKA members to pursue greatness in martial arts. The competition gave a fantastic opportunity for these Karatekas to hone their talents, gain vital experience, and bond with martial artists from many locations.
