Situated in our neighbourhood of Bandstand Chowpatty B.K.M. High School has been in operation for over four decades. Established in 1974 by the visionary Smt. Bachuben, the school was founded on the enduring principles of knowledge, discipline, and integrity. Students in the School are mainly from our neighbourhood mostly from Banganga and other areas.
The School has a committed board of trustees: Shri Deepak Shah, Ms. Pragna Mody, Smt. Daksha Shah, Smt. Shital Shah, Shri Mukesh Mody, Smt. Mrudula Jariwala, Shri Arvind Shah, Smt. Ranjan Darji, and Shri Sanjay Shah. Their dedication has played a big role in the development of the school’s infrastructure, of its curriculum, and the promotion of student welfare programs. The Schools guiding vision is: to inspire and
empower every student to realize their full potential and become responsible, compassionate global citizens.
As a co-educational institution afliated with the Maharashtra State Board, B.K.M. High School has consistently delivered quality education. They foster an environment where every student is encouraged to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially, within a secure and inclusive community.
With science laboratories, a comprehensive library, and a strong emphasis on sports and cultural activities, the school provides a platform for students to explore and learn. Its commitment to academic achievement is evident in its impressive track record – a 100% pass rate in Board Examinations for the past 17 consecutive years.
According to Principal Mrs. Meghna Osahan, an alumnus of the school, “At B.K.M., our mission goes beyond preparing students for exams – we prepare them for life”. She adds “We are committed to academic excellence, nurturing strong character, and equipping students with the skills they need to succeed in an ever-evolving world.”

Students are regularly encouraged to participate in inter-school competitions, and they continue to bring accolades to the institution. Notable achievements include a gold medal at the zonal level and a silver medal at the district level in athletics, along with numerous awards in elocution, drawing, street plays, folk dance, and ower arrangement at renowned venues such as Mani Bhavan and Prem Puri Ashram.
