Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicates the savings from his salary, as well as the funds raised through the auction of awards and mementos, to public service and environmental causes. The 7th auction of his gifts and mementos also raised money for the Namami Gange Project.
“I vow to dedicate every moment of my life and every particle of my body to the service of the nation and its citizens.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only repeated this statement on numerous occasions but also lives this spirit. So far, PM Modi has presented a new picture of public welfare and dedication by donating more than Rs.100 crores from the savings of his salary, proceeds of gifts, and mementos collected through auctions, and prizes received for public welfare. During his 25 years in power, PM Modi has not only dedicated himself to serving the nation but, in keeping with his pledge, has dedicated every moment and every particle of his life to the service of Maa Ganga. In this context, the Ministry of Culture
launched the 7th edition of the Prime Minister Modi memorabilia auction, which featured over 1,300 gifts. From September 17th to October 31st, online bidders for these mementos and prizes thronged. The highest bid was for Lord Tirupati Balaji with 179 bidders, while the metal statue of Ardhanarishvara and Sri Venkateswara Balaji received the highest bids of Rs 15 lakh each.
PM Modi Donates Savings From Expense Cuts And Gift Auctions Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the 41st Lokmanya Tilak National Award. He donated the prize amount of Rs 1 lakh to the Namami Gange Project.
– After completing his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he donated Rs.21 lakh from his savings for the education of daughters of state government employees.
– PM Modi auctioned all the gifts he received as Chief Minister, raising Rs.89.96 crores, and donated it to the Kanya Kelavani Fund, which was spent on the education of girls.
– The auction of mementos received during PM Modi’s early tenure raised Rs.3.4 crores and donated it to the Namami Gange Mission.
– In 2015, Prime Minister Modi organised an auction in Surat for the gifts he had received up to that time. The Rs.8.33 crore raised from that auction was also donated to the Namami Gange Mission.
– PM Modi donated Rs.2.25 lakh, which he had raised by cutting down his expenses during COVID-19 pandemic.
– He donated the Rs.1.3 crores received as the Seoul Peace Prize to the Namami Gange Mission.
– He donated Rs.21 lakh from his personal savings to the welfare fund of sanitation workers at the Kumbh Mela.
The Iitems that received the highest bid in the Auction A beautiful metal statue of Ardhanarishvara, a symbol of divine duality and exquisite craftsmanship, represents a combined form of Lord Shiva and his consort, Parvati.
The minimum bid for this gift was Rs.1.10 lakh, which reached Rs.15 lakh after 31 bids.
The second-highest bid was for a beautiful statue of Sri Venkateswara Balaji, presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The auction also started at Rs.1.10 lakh and reached Rs.15 lakh after the 36th bid.
Lord Tirupati Balaji Souvenir: The highest number of 179 people participated in the auction for the silver coloured memento of Lord Tirupati Balaji, with artistic skill and craftsmanship. The starting price was Rs.27,500 which reached Rs.126,100 at the final bid.
Ram Darbar: 176 people expressed their desire to take home the silver idol of Ram Darbar gifted to Prime Minister Modi. Its base price was kept at Rs 22 thousand, which reached Rs 1,05,100 in the 176th bid.
The price of a Kani Pashmina Shawl reached Rs 2.20 lakh: The Kani Pashmina Shawl gifted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a unique example of Kashmiri weaving art which is woven from Pashmina wool on a handloom. The e-auction of this shawl started at Rs 3,300, and the admirers bid so much that the
bid reached Rs 2.20 lakh at the 69th number.
The first auction was held in January 2019. Since then, in six previous editions, nearly 9,000 gifts presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been put up for auction.
These auctions have raised over Rs 50 crore in support of the Namami Gange project. PM Modi is the first Prime Minister to dedicate all the mementos to this noble cause.
