Homemakers – Learn how AI can be your best friend

Tushar Prabhoo September 27, 2025 3 minutes read

When most people think of Artificial Intelligence (AI), they imagine robots, Silicon Valley techies, or corporate boardrooms filled with data scientists. But AI isn’t just for students, engineers, or entrepreneurs. In fact, one of AI’s most untapped audiences might be living right next door — our very own homemakers. Yes, you read that right. You don’t need a degree in computer science or fancy gadgets to benefit from AI. All you need is curiosity — and maybe a smartphone. And if you’re a housewife managing a hundred little things each day, AI could be the invisible helping hand you never knew you needed. So, What Is AI? Simply put, Artificial Intelligence allows machines and apps to “think” or make decisions like humans, but faster. You already use it when Netflix recommends shows, Google finishes your sentences, or your phone unlocks with your face. AI is around us — now it’s time to make it work for you. How Can Homemakers Use AI? Here’s how AI can simplify a homemaker’s life – whether you’re managing a busy household in Malabar Hill or planning your next dinner party in Breach Candy: 1. Meal Planning & Recipes (Hello, AI Chef!) Apps like ChatGPT, Yummly, or Super Cook can create recipes based on what’s in your fridge. Want a Jain-friendly, low-oil paneer recipe in 15 minutes? Just ask! 2. Smart Budgeting AI-po w e r ed apps li k e Walnut or Good Budget can track your monthly grocery spend, alert you about unusual transactions, and help you stick to a family budget. 3. Learning on the Go Ever wanted to improve your English, brush up on history, or even start a hobby blog? Tools like YouTube’s AI subtitles, language apps, and ChatGPT can help you learn anything, anytime. 4. Home Management Reminders From paying bills to scheduling deliveries, apps like Google Assistant or To doist use AI to remind and organise without nagging. 5. Voice Commands for Everything You don’t even need to type. Just talk. Use Google Assistant or Siri to set timers, call your spouse, or even find out how to remove turmeric stains! 6. Helping with Kids’ Studies Struggling to explain Algebra? AI tools like Khan Academy Kids or Photomath can break it down in easy steps – even if you never liked maths yourself. 7. Starting a Small Business Thinking of launching a tiffin service or selling handmade crafts? AI tools can help you design logos, manage orders, write content, and even find the right prices. But I’m Not Tech-Savvy! You don’t need to be.

AI is becoming more user-friendly every day. If you can use WhatsApp, you can use AI apps. It’s all about taking that first tiny step – and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. Curious to Learn More? I’m currently conducting introductory sessions and workshops specifically for women who want to explore how AI can support them in their homes, passions, and businesses – no jargon, no pressure. If you’re a homemaker in South Mumbai, this could be your chance to become a little more tech-smart (without having to leave your living room!). Let’s embrace the future, not fear it. AI isn’t here to replace us; it’s here to assist us. Even in the kitchen.
