Most symptoms and signs of ageing in seniors can not be
stopped but can be made least impacting to keep up with quality of life. Ageing is basically changes in living beings that occurs over time involving Social, Psychological and Physical aspects. Decline in physical strength seems inevitable main factor being limited ambulation, movements and efficiency in activities needed for daily living.

A senior adult can have problems with other health systems like Nervous and Cardiovascular apart from joints pain, Arthritis along with reduced mobility.

Dr Anuda Desai

Throughout life optimum function is maintained by movements and being physically active which in turn helps in keeping up with Mental health as well.

There is unique pattern of ageing in each individual but overall impact can be challenging for most of senior adults. Common problems observed are :

Back pain, Hip pain, Knee pain, Heel pain and other foot problems, Swelling around Ankle and Foot, Stiffness in fingers and weakness leading to altered signature. Reduced speed of walking, balance issues while standing and walking, difficulty in stair climbing, problem in sitting up from lying position and standing up from sitting position, difficulty in getting in
and out of car etc.

Over and above there could be FEAR OF FALL that makes a senior reduce the movements and activities like socialising. However exercises can modify the process of ageing and slow down further decline in effects of ageing.
