THE MUMBAI TRAFFIC POLICE HAS CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM EXISTS
Following the opening of the Amarsons Interchange, the MTP observed persistent congestion at St. Stephen’s Church Signal. The existing road layout creates a bottleneck with limited capacity to handle the additional traffic.
CONVENTION TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED WITHOUT MATERIALY REDUCING CONGESTION

THE RECCOMENDED SOLUTION
Following its assessment, the Mumbai Traffic Police requested BMC to undertake a feasibility study for a 2-lane Exit Road to Napean Sea Road along the reclaimed land as the only effective solution to decongest local roads.

Why the Exit Road helps
60% of vehicles leaving the Amarsons Interchange already turn right towards Napean Sea Road & Malabar Hill.
The proposed Exit Road does not create new traffic. It simply keeps these vehicles on the Coastal Road for longer, reducing pressure on the St. Stephen’s Church bottleneck.
We know the solution isn’t perfect Final alignment and traffic management still need refinement. But it is the strongest practical solution currently available to reduce congestion.
