Daily walkers at the Hanging Garden & Kamala Nehru Park have written to our local MLA & Cabinet Minister Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha to initiate installing a ATM outlet for the benet of walkers, visitors and close residents in an around the periphery of 100 meters. They have suggested two locations.
One is in the post ofce premises or below the Pramod Navalkar Viewing Gallery. This can also generate revenue in terms of rent to BMC or Post Office. Walkers have also written to local Municipal Corporator, Shri Sunny Sanap to arrange for a emergency Ambulance service which can be parked near the Gardens. It can be a low cost Maruti Omni Van equipped with emergency equipment and supplies. Recently a senior citizen morning walker had a sudden cardiac arrest and lost his life. On holidays lot of people visit the gardens, the ambulance can of immense help in case of any emergency. Nice suggestions by the Walkers for the benet of all citizens.
In a letter to MLA Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha the walkers have also requested for installing speed cameras as a safety measure for walkers and visitors, many walkers are senior citizens. Some after they cross the post ofce speed up their cars which might result in a accident. The walkers have suggested installing speed cameras for safety. Once they’re aware that cameras are installed and fines can be imposed they will drive with discipline.
