On February 24, 2024, a special cleanup campaign was organised in D Ward under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Mr. Sharad Ughade in response to directions from Maharashtra’s Honourable Chief Minister. Mr. Amit Gadekar, Assistant Engineer of the D Ward SWM department, did an excellent job managing the setup. Honourable Mangal Prabhatji Lodha, State Minister, attended the programme, as did former councillors Minal Patel and Jyotsna Mehta. The ceremony began at August Kranti Maidan, with children from St. Colombo School performing a colourful Lezim dance. Following that, Rohit More and his colleagues presented a street play about garbage segregation.
The campaign drew involvement from all departments within D Ward, demonstrating a collaborative effort towards cleanliness. Mr. Naresh Rathod from the SWM department was recognised for his contributions and presented with a Certificate of Appreciation. The programme completed at Babulnath, signalling the completion of a successful cleanup campaign.
