Mr Jagtaran Singh Sethi along with his friend Dr.Thyagaraju has initiated a Mathematics Club. They have been running the Club on WhatsApp and wish to expand the Club in terms of number of activities and members.
The Club is meant for the general public, to get the joy aspect of mathematics. This may be called ‘recreational mathematics’. In addition, mathematics has an inherent quality of systematising our thinking habits. The students would of course benefit from the Club.
Club was started 10 years back and would meet at Gamdevi regularly. Since lockdown Club has a online presence in WhatsApp and meetings through Zoom Application.
In this connection a Zoom-meeting was held on 9th February. Shri Sethi gave an overview of the genesis of the Club. Smt. Shraddha Panchal, also of Malabar area, spoke about School level Olympiad Mathematics. Mr. Arjun, an IITian spoke about Permutations & Combinations and Pascal Triangle. Some enthusiasts such as Mr. L.S. Rajput, Mrs. Priyanka, Mrs. Nuri, Mr Tushar Prabhoo and others expressed their joy. Dr. Thyagaraju gave an idea about the relationship between logic, philosophy and mathematics.

Readers who like mathematics subject are requested and encouraged to join this Club. Also those readers who were good in mathematics in their school, college and studies can join the Club and revive their interest.
