On Saturday, April 4th, Shri Mangalji, our Hon. Minister and MLA, visited our Hanging Garden for two reasons: To thank voters after municipal elections. He then indicated that BMC plans to build an extra water reservoir behind Hanging Garden. According to him, this will assist repair the existing tank and support the future development of our neighbourhood.
He also indicated that the existing water reservoir will be repaired, mostly for structural strengthening. This restoration will neither block frequent Garden visitors, nor will it interfere with the existing parking order, which Shri Mangalji has reinstated as free parking for 24 hours as per the original status quo for several decades. Mangalji also mentioned a potential car park on top of the planned reservoir. Shri Mangalji also provided significant information: with this planned project, just 72 trees will be felled, as opposed to the previous proposal of 369 trees.
