RTKA’s 86th Karate-Do Camp: A Premier Gathering of Tradition and Skill
Rajesh Thakkar’s Karate Academy (RTKA) is set to host its much-anticipated 86th Karate-Do Camp, a testament to its enduring legacy of martial arts excellence.
Scheduled from December 26th to 30th, 2024, at the scenic Zara’s Resorts, Khandala, this prestigious camp promises to bring together over 150 Karate enthusiasts from cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Surat, and Bhavnagar.
The camp will be led by Sensei Rajesh Thakkar, a distinguished 7th Degree Black Belt with decades of expertise, ensuring a transformative learning experience.
Joining the event will be Sensei Kaivan Fatakia, a 5th Dan in Goju Kai Karate-do, along with his students from across the country, further elevating the camp’s stature.
Participants will benefit from a meticulously designed curriculum that includes: Kihon (Basics): Mastering fundamental techniques. Kata (Form): Embodying Karate’s essence through structured sequences. Bunkai (Application of Kata): Practical applications of Kata movements. Ippon Kumite (One-Step Sparring): Developing precision in controlled sparring. Makiwara (Bagwork): Strength and accuracy training. Shiai Kumite (Sports Karate): Competitive Karate techniques. Pool Training: Innovative training methods in a refreshing environment.

RTKA’s 44th Goju Ryu Karate Championship
Celebrating 45 Years of Excellence Rajesh Thakkar’s Karate Academy (RTKA) is thrilled to announce its 44th Goju Ryu Karate Championship, to be held at the iconic PJ Hindu Gymkhana, Marine Drive, Mumbai, on February 1st and 2nd, 2025. This year’s event is particularly special, as February 1st marks the 45th anniversary of RTKA India, celebrating decades of dedication to martial arts excellence. The championship will feature over 300 participants competing across four categories:
Kihon (Basics): Perfecting foundational techniques. Individual Kata: Displaying the art of Karate through structured forms.
Shadow Shiai: Simulated combat against imaginary opponents.
Shiai Kumite (Sports Combat): Competitive sparring. What sets this championship apart is the unique blend of skill, discipline, and innovation it represents.
One of the standout features of this event is the inclusion of a format innovated by Sensei Rajesh Thakkar, showcasing his creative approach to Karate competitions. Under the guidance of Sensei Thakkar, a renowned 7th Degree Black Belt with over 45 years of teaching experience, the tournament emphasises the principles of balance, self-confidence, and peace.
RTKA adheres to its guiding mantra: “Do not strike others and do not allow others to strike you. The goal is peace without incident.” The championship will bring together students from RTKA dojos across South Mumbai, Central and Western suburbs, and Bhavnagar.
