How residents voted in our Neighbourhood – The Voice of Malabar Hills

Finally the long Election process is over and results are out. Shivsena (UBT) and MVA candidate Shri Arvind Sawant, the incumbent MP, was re-elected in a heatedly contested poll. Many people have opinions about why the results were what they are, but the reality is that Shri Arvind Sawant won the election for the third time in a row to represent the South Mumbai seat in Parliament. Congratulations to him and his teammates.

Malabar Hill voted overwhelmingly for BJP Alliance, as seen by the election results listed below. It is positive news for BJP supporters that Shri Narendra bhai Modi will serve the country as Prime Minister for the third time. Good wishes to him!

Mumbai South Parliamentary Constituency:

Total voters 15,36,168 voters. Votes polled 7,69,010. Arvind Sawant 3,95,655 (51.44%). Yamini Jadhav 3,42,982 9 (44.60%). Others (12 Independents) 21,065 (2.73). Nota 13411 (1.74%). Arvind Sawant won by a margin 52,673 votes.

Malabar Hill Assembly:

Total voters 2,56,899. Votes polled 1,32,995. Arvind Sawant 39,457 (29.66%). Yamini Jadhav 87448 (65.75%). Nota 3110 (2.33%). Others 2947 (2.21%). Malabar Hill gave Yamini Jadhav lead of 47,991 votes. Jadhav leads only in Malabar Hill and Colaba Assemblies, rest of the four Assemblies she trailed.
