NEPEAN SEA ROAD
On May 31st, residents of Nepean Sea Road organized a grand Hindu Sammelan at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Chowpatty. Despite being a leisurely Sunday morning, the event drew an impressive gathering of 500 attendees of young volunteers, professionals, business leaders, families, and senior citizens, reflecting a growing interest in community engagement, cultural values, and social harmony.
The Sammelan featured inspiring addresses by distinguished speakers. Shri Gunwant Ji Kothari, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), shared his thoughts on social cohesion, national development, and the importance of strengthening community bonds.
A special highlight of the event was the address by Supreme Court Advocate and noted social reformer Shri Ashwini Upadhyay, who travelled from New Delhi specifically to attend the Sammelan. Widely known as the “PIL Man of India,” he energized the audience with a thought-provoking speech on constitutional awareness, social reforms, and civic responsibility.
MLA Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha led the welcome of Acharya Naya Padma Sagar Swami Maharaj Ji, whose presence and blessings were among the major highlights of the Sammelan. The revered spiritual leader blessed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the organizers in bringing together people from diverse backgrounds on a common platform dedicated to social harmony and cultural values. His address marked the culmination of the programme, during which he emphasized the need for positive societal transformation through values-based leadership, character building, family values, and collective community efforts.
The gathering was notable for its diverse participation and witnessed the presence of several prominent members of the Jain community, reinforcing the spirit of unity and shared cultural heritage.
The Sammelan was led by Adhyaksh Shri Girishbhai Shah, Upadhyaksh Shri Vikram Trivedi, and Mrs. Uma Pachisia, along with a dedicated team of volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the event a success.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Shri Sajjan Jindal, Chairman of JSW Group, and Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal sent special video messages conveying their happiness and best wishes for this first-of-its-kind community gathering in the Nepean Sea Road area.
The programme was ably compered by Shri Ajay Mantri.
Many attendees expressed their desire for more such gatherings in the future. Organizers described the Sammelan as a unique platform that brought together people from different age groups and backgrounds with a common commitment towards preserving cultural values, fostering social harmony, and contributing positively to society.
The overwhelming response to the Nepeansea Road Hindu Sammelan demonstrates the growing desire among citizens to come together through constructive dialogue, community participation, and shared civilizational values.
BAN GANGA
A Grand Kalash Yatra was organised in Mumbai on 6th June 2026 as part of the Hindu Sammelan and Hindu Ekta (Hindu Unity) initiative in Ban Ganga area, highlighting cultural awareness and the preservation of traditional values.
RSS Konkan Prant Karyavah Shri Vithal Kambleji and Jain Guru Shri PP Vinamra Sagar Swamiji Maharaj highlighted importance of Sanskaar Traditions and Community Involvement. Program organisation was led by Shri RG Bhat, Shri Shreyans Shah and Shri Prasad Mhale who are trustees of leading temples in Walkeshwar area. Shri Mangal Prabhatji Lodha and Smt Manju Lodhaji made valuable contributions to the event. More than 500-700 people gathered with many residents joining with their families making the event the a unique gathering. The same was followed by ‘Prasad’, courtesy of the GSB temple trust.
PEDDER ROAD
On May 24, 2026, a “Cultural Conference” was organized at NFDC on Peddar Road by the Hindu Samaj of Peddar Road and Mahalaxmi. The event received an enthusiastic response. Held with the message, “From culture comes organization, and from organization comes strength,” the conference featured distinguished speakers from various fields who shared their views on Indian culture, social unity, and nation-building.
The gathering was addressed by renowned spiritual speaker Om Dhumatkar Ji, noted film director and writer Vivek Agnihotri Ji, and Vipin Kumar Ji, Konkan Prant Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The program was chaired by Sudhir Goenka Ji, while Mrs. Madhu Daga Ji attended as Vice President. Maharashtra’s Minister for Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship, Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, was also present on the occasion. The event was hosted by Ajay Mantri Ji.
The program began with a Ganesh Vandana. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the formal inauguration of the event accompanied by a tabla performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vipin Kumar (Konkan Province Pracharak) guided the audience on the importance of “Panch Parivartan” (Five Transformations), which include environmental conservation, social harmony, Swadeshi and self-reliance, civic responsibility, and family awareness.
After this, renowned filmmaker and writer Vivek Agnihotri analyzed the role of films in creating social awareness. He stated that cinema has a deep impact on society and public consciousness, and therefore he presents his social perspectives through films. He also urged citizens to preserve their cultural identity through art and culture.
At the conclusion of the program, spiritual speaker Om Dhumatkar Ji demonstrated, through the practical application of Omkar chanting, how Sanatan Dharma helps maintain physical and mental balance along with professional well-being.
The conference, which began at 10 am, witnessed large participation from citizens, youth, and social workers.
