Publication of Electoral Roll in SIR – 2026
Election Commission of India under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) – 2026, the Draft Electoral Rolls of all 288 Assembly Constituen-cies in Maharashtra will be published on 31.08.2026. These Draft Electoral Rolls will be available on the Election Commission of India’s Voter Service Portal (www.voters.eci.gov.in), the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra State (www.ceoelection.maharashtra.gov.in/ceo) as well as on the websites of the respective District Election Officers.
Lists of electors whose names could not be included in the Draft Electoral Rolls, along with the reasons, namely Absent/Shifted/ Dead/Duplicate/Other (ASDDO), have also been made available on the above-mentioned websites. Prior to Special Intensive Revision, the total number of electors in Maharashtra was 9,78,54,049. Out of these, 7,71,65,562 electors (78.86%) have been included in the Draft Electoral Rolls. This includes 3,95,89,905 male electors, 3,75,72,570 female electors and 3,087 third-gender electors. A total of 2,06,88,487 electors (21.14%) from the previous electoral rolls due to the reasons: 1. Being absent/not found at the place of residence mentioned in the Electoral Roll. 2. Having shifted from the place of residence as mentioned in Electoral Roll. 3. Being dead. 4. Having been enrolled elsewhere/being a duplicate entry. 5. Other reasons, including refusal by the elector to fill and submit the Enumeration Form, etc.
An opportunity to file claims and objections in respect of the Draft Electoral Rolls will be available for a period of one month, from 31.08.2026 to 30.09.2026. The process relating to claims and objections, will be completed at their respective levels during the period from 31.08.2026 to 29.10.2026. Upon completion of the above process, the Final Electoral Rolls will be published on 04.11.2026, as per the schedule prescribed by the Election Commission of India.
